Atlanta Contemporary Art Center Announces New Blog
The Atlanta Contemporary Art Center announced last week that they’ve started covering ACAC goings-on and news on a blog located here. We’re excited because the ACAC is one of the southeast’s leading contemporary art centers, presenting cutting-edge contemporary art that reflects everyday reality, offering educational programs for young and old alike, and supporting working artists and their creative processes. With 8-10 exhibitions a year showcasing artists both local and international and 50+ educational programs throughout the year, the ACAC offers an unprecedented glimpse into the mind of many of today’s most groundbreaking new artists.
The new Atlanta Contemporary Art Center blog covers everything from poetry to ACAC’s studio artists in residence, ACAC staff to workshops. We highly suggest checking it out, and then heading over to ACAC to see their exhibits on view. The ACAC is open Tues.-Sun. and costs only $5 for adults to get in. See here for hours and exhibition periods. ACAC is located in the Westside Arts District conveniently near Apex West Midtown.
Supporting ACAC becomes even more crucial as independent arts in Atlanta becomes increasingly threatened in terms of funding. You may recall, for example, the closure of Eyedrum (just down the street from the Pencil Factory Flats and Shops) last December, as well as the closing of Lenny’s Bar (and its revival as the N.E.M. Art Collective), also located near Pencil Factory.
Perennial Properties is a proud sponsor of ACAC.
