Atlanta Sunday Sales to Appear on November Ballot
If you've ever found yourself looking to buy a few beers or a bottle of wine on a Sunday afternoon to enjoy with dinner or by the pool, you have come to terms with one of the most frustrating laws in Georgia: no Sunday alcohol sales.
This might be changing soon, though. On Tuesday, the Atlanta City Council voted 9-2 for a measure that will let voters decide if they will authorize the city council to allow and regulate Sunday sales of beer, wine, and liquor. This addition to the November 8 special election ballot comes as a result of the decision four months ago of Governor Nathan Deal to sign Senate Bill 10 allowing communities in Georgia to decide whether or not to allow Sunday sales.
Our beloved Kwanza Hall (representing downtown/O4W) was one of the nine council members who voted to let you decide.
What do you think about Sunday sales? Yea or nay?
