Countdown to Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week Begins
This Saturday, Downtown Atlanta Restaurant Week begins. We're getting very excited, because some of the city's most incredible restaurants are participating: everything from the traditional German beer and sausage joint Der Biergarten to the truly FAB French American Brasserie (FAB); from the luxe meat emporium BLT Steak to the super-fresh, high-quality Legal Sea Foods, plus dozens more. If there's a restaurant you've been aching to try in downtown Atlanta, this week you might just want to take one of them up on their menus.
The countdown has begun, as this past weekend, a tasting party at Loews Atlanta Hotel debuted the signature cocktail for Restaurant Week among treats from many of the participating restaurants. The apple-ginger concoction is called The Absolut® Rickshaw.
“We are thrilled to again bring an event that does such a wonderful job showcasing so many of the amazing restaurants Downtown Atlanta has to offer,” said A.J. Robinson, president of Central Atlanta Progress/Atlanta Downtown Improvement District. “Each year the signature drink and restaurant menus get more and more creative and this summer will be no different. The Absolut® Rickshaw will go perfectly with all the menu options, so make a reservation and try it!”
The drink is composed of Absolut Orient Apple vodka, a new product from the venerable line that combines the crisp sweetness of fresh apples with the light bite of ginger, fresh cranberry juice, and authentic ginger ale, added for a real kick. This refreshing cocktail can be ordered at any of the participating restaurants.
From May 28 through June 5, $25 three-course meals will be offered at Azio, Café Circa, Der Biergarten, French American Brasserie (FAB), Georgia Peach, Max Lager’s Wood Fired Grill & Brewery, Meehan’s Public House Downtown, No Mas! Cantina, Pittypat’s Porch, ROOM, Spoon – Westside, and STATS. $35 three-course options will be available at Atlanta Grill, BLT Steak, Legal Sea Foods, Ray’s in the City, Rise Sushi Lounge, Ruth’s Chris Steak House, and Sun Dial Restaurant Bar & View. Additionally, Benihana, Dantanna’s Downtown, Peasant Bistro, Social, Terrace on Peachtree, Thrive, and Truva will be offering both $25 and $35 menus.
Menus showing each restaurant’s offerings are available online. Make your reservations early, because places will sell out fast. Your favorite chefs are looking forward to seeing you, and the new ones are looking forward to showing you their stuff for the first time.
