Downtown Atlanta On the Rocks
This summer, the downtown Atlanta dining district has begun offering a summertime happy hour series that brings frosty beers, fruity wines, and tempting cocktails to intown Atlanta. Called Sips in the City, the series runs every weekday between 5 PM and 7 PM at 26 participating restaurants in downtown Atlanta, and offers drink specials catering to those who live as well as work downtown.
Participants include Azio Downtown (featuring signature Johnny Love Martinis), snow cone cocktails (!) at the Atlanta Grill located in the Ritz-Carlton, BLT Steak (with $5 bar bites), Der Biergarten's extensive list of fine German beers, craft cocktails at DRINKSHOP, Legal Sea Foods raw bar specials, margarita specials at No Mas! Cantina, house-infused soju at Rise Sushi Lounge, or a good old beer-and-a-shot at Sidebar in Fairlie-Poplar. This is only a partial list of participants, and you can find the rest here.
If you're hungry, you also should also check out one of our favorite locales in downtown Atlanta, the Beignet Connection, as they've recently announced the receipt of their liquor license. That means that you can now get beer, wine, or your favorite cocktail with Atlanta's best Creole cuisine, and they're offering bottomless mimosas during Saturday and Sunday brunch.
