Get a jump start on a healthy 2012 with X3 Sports

It’s the topic just about no one wants to talk (or hear) about – especially over the holidays – but getting healthy is the top New Year’s Resolution year after year.   And while many of us will wait until after the holidays have passed to focus on getting healthy in 2012, there’s no time like today to commit to getting started.

To help get you motivated and equip you with the information you need to start eating right, X3 Sports is hosting a weight loss and nutrition workshop on Saturday, January 7 from 9:00am-12:00pm.  The workshop is structured in three sections:

·        Developing a food plan – Understand how your body processes different types of food and food combinations.

·        Grocery shopping – Increase your understanding of ingredients and labels so you know which foods to buy and which ones to avoid.

·        The emotional connection to eating – Learn how to address your emotions without turning to food.

While you may be familiar with X3 Sports’ Intown location in the Shops at N. Highland Steel, please note that this event takes place in the OTP location in Marietta.  It’s a bit of a haul, we know, but it's on a Saturday and you’re worth it!

Registration for the $129 event is open now, so reserve your spot and make the commitment for a healthier you in 2012.

PS – If you’re not familiar with X3 Sports and you’re looking for a different approach to getting in shape, take a look at their website or stop by their Intown location at 240 N. Highland Ave.   This isn’t your typical gym.  X3 Sports focuses on using martial arts and sports training to help clients meet their fitness or competitive goals.  The facility offers group classes and training programs in Kickboxing, Yoga, Jiu Jitsu, Mixed Martial Arts and more.

Indoor workouts not for you?   No problem.  Go for a jog at Piedmont Park.  Grab a friend to check out the new Historic Fourth Ward Park.  Go for a skate at the outdoor rink at Centennial Park (through Jan. 29).  You’ll get to experience Atlanta’s beauty while you work out – can’t beat that!
