Grand Opening of the Grant Park Farmer’s Market
We are so happy to announce that this Sunday, May 15th, the grand opening of the Grant Park Farmer's Market will be going down at 10 AM. At that moment at the Milledge Fountain entrance to the park, there will be a ceremonial ribbon cutting, and free flower seed and eco-bag giveaways to first 100 people who come in.
According to Facebook, there will be "fresh vegetables, berries, the first peaches of the season, [censored] mushrooms, freshly made crepes, quiches, natural popsicles, artisan breads, hand-crafted cheeses, pasture-raised meat and eggs, locally roasted coffee, boiled peanuts, decadent ice cream, zesty salsas, authentic pasta, and much more!" I don't know about you, but the first Georgia peaches of the season sound pretty incredible right about now.
Additionally, there will bubbles, sidewalk chalk, and games for kids; an open, all-levels free yoga class at 10:30 AM (bring your own mat); a youth bike ride co-led by Councilman Aaron Watson, Parks, Recreation & Cultural Affairs Commissioner George Dusenbury and Community Farmers Market Board Chair Atiba Mbiwan; something called a "doggie kissing booth" which sounds...interesting; and a visit from a few of Zoo Atlanta's furry denizens.
Check them out on Facebook for more details, and we'll see you this Sunday!
