Growlers at Atlanta’s Intown Market
So, let's say it's not Sunday and you're in the mood to share some craft beer with friends. We've already noted that Pencil Factory's own Intown Market has what might be the best beer selection in Atlanta, with plenty of Belgians and other fancy brews in their "beer cave". But did you know that they offer growlers of many of their fine craft beers? Follow them on Twitter or become a fan of them on Facebook to learn of the adventures of "Growler Dude," a mysterious man who appears to make half-gallon jugs of beers like Atlanta's own Wild Heaven appear out of thin air (or, you know, a tap...).
With eight taps to choose from, Intown Market's growler station will probably offer something up the alley of any intown beer lover; heck, they even manage to get an "A" rating out of the very picky userbase at Beer Advocate and 11/11 5-star ratings at Yelp, thanks to their knowledgeable staff and great selection. As of this writing, growler choices include Wild Heaven, Spaten, Great Divide, North Coast Brewing Company, and Dogfish Head beers.
How does the growler program work? Along with the beer you get in the half-gallon jug, you pay a deposit on the bottle, which you then get back when you return the bottle...making it a super-green way to enjoy your favorite brews. Plus, since Intown Market sells gourmet deli sandwiches, pizza, and other fresh foods, you'll be able to accompany your beer with a tasty treat. Now that's a party!
