Looking for something fun to do this Independence Day weekend?

Here are some ideas from around intown Atlanta:

Beginning on Friday and running through the Fourth, the Atlanta Heritage Arts Festival celebrates African-American heritage in the heart of Underground Atlanta. Running morning to nighttime, the festival hosts an artist's market, live music, and dance performances, plus plenty of vendors.

Sunday night, the Park Tavern next to Piedmont Park (10th & Monroe) in Midtown is hosting the Americana Jam, a free concert beginning at 8 PM, with performers including Emily Kate Boyd and Paul Warner.

On the Fourth, head to the Georgia Aquarium for the Red, White & Brew Festival, offering beer, food, and music, as well as a fabulous view of the fireworks in Centennial Olympic Park. Running from 6-10:30 PM, there will be a barbecue, live tunes by the Yacht Rock Revue, and a beer tasting. Proceeds will benefit the Aquarium's education initiatives.

If you'd like something a little more wholesome, check out the City of Decatur's annual Fourth of July Parade, starting at 6 PM. If you're feeling artsy, create a float and join in! Festivities will include the Callanwolde Concert Band and fireworks beginning at 9 PM.

Just looking for fireworks? Both Olympic Centennial Park in Downtown and Lenox Square in Buckhead will bring the ooohs and aaaahs of patriotic pyrotechnics.

Have a safe and happy Fourth, everyone!
