The Marlee’s Poetic Final Four is ON!
Marlee's Coffee & Tea House is already one of the go-to spots in town for spoken word open mic nights. Hostess Tira F.R.E.E. Heard keeps the event moving along while some of the best poets in Atlanta do their thing. And this month, things just got real.
This May, Marlee's is running the Poetic Final Four, sponsored by the Pencil Factory Flats & Shops. This contest offers a $500 grand prize for the winner dubbed the best in the city. The tournament is on every Tuesday in May from 7 PM to 9 PM. Sign-ups begin at 6:30.
In order to compete in the tournament in May, poets must have performed on the MIC at Marlee's in April and pay a small $20 registration fee. For more details, you can email info@marleescoffeehouse.com.
Not a poet? You can come watch the show. Marlee's never charges a cover but asks that you purchase a food or drink item from their extensive coffee, tea, dessert, and tapas menu.
And may the best voice win.
