This Weekend: BaconFest!

So, let's say you finish up your nice morning tour of the Historic Old Fourth Ward Park with Councilman Kwanza Hall this Saturday, March 26, and you still have the itch to go do something.

How about bacon?

The much-adored, much-maligned meat will be starring this Saturday in a blow-out shindig at Dad's Garage Theatre in Inman Park. BaconFest is the nonprofit theatre's annual fundraiser, a brilliant idea taking advantage of how powerful the draw is to those crispy-chewey strips of cured pork. The festival offers bacon, beer, and bands from 1-6 PM on Saturday, as well as booths (including "Hobo Wine Tasting"), games, contests, and plenty of pork.

There are three ticket options:

Portioned Porking: $25 online, $35 phone & door: includes three cups to be filled with beer or bacon, plus game tickets.

Bottomless Bacon: $50 online, $60 phone & door: unlimited beer and bacon, plus game tickets.

Whole Hog!: $100 online, $110 phone and door: Bottomless Bacon plus access to a whole roasted pig from P'Cheen, special high-gravity craft beers, and exclusive varieties of bacon. You even get your own special bib to wear while pigging out.

The headlining band is Mike LaSage and the Stumbling Troubadours. Other events include eating contests and an inebriated spelling bee.

Tickets sold out last year, so get yours soon! How often can you combine improv comedy and bacon? Only in Atlanta, y'all!
