Village Theatre moves their improv comedy venue to Pencil Factory

Village Theatre, Atlanta's own improv comedy theater, has announced its impending move to the Pencil Factory Flats and Shops, just down the street from its current location on Decatur Street in the heart of intown Atlanta. The new Village Theatre will take up 3,600 feet in the Pencil Factory retail space, which will almost fill the shop space located under the apartments, already home to a number of thriving restaurants and businesses.

Generally conceded to be Atlanta's finest comedy experiences, Village Theatre runs shows three  nights a week: Comedy Live on Friday nights, a classic improv show with a fun, interactive element; Improv, A**Hole on Saturday nights, a home-grown improv comedy tournament; and Danger! The Show on Wednesdays, a proving ground for the newer VT talent. Additionally, the theater occasionally runs a sketch comedy show called The Yes Girls. Village Theatre also has a five-level improv comedy training program, with frequently sold-out classes.

But you don't have to take our word for it. Here are some reviews from Village Theatre's Yelp.com page:

I had such a great time at the Village Theatre last weekend for my birthday! I've been before and the second time was just as great! Thanks for making fun of me and my friends and making us laugh for several hours! (Victoria F.)

If you don't have fun here, you probably can't have fun anywhere. Or you're too young and your parents dropped you off at the wrong theatre. (Blair S.)

Amazing fun every time!! These guys and gals are quick witted and imaginative ... Every time I have been has been stellar. It is super cheap, comfortable, and the folks are friendly - not like some of the more 'exclusive' improv joints in town. (Sara S.)

Basically, one of the best cheap dates in Atlanta is moving in. We're psyched!
